Dance Promo Code 2026: -50% for 3 Months on Your E-Bike Subscription

Dance does not hand out promo codes to type at checkout. The discount comes through a personal referral link, generated by a subscriber from the The Club tab of the app ("Refer a friend" button). When you sign up through our link, the app itself says it: "50% off for them for 3 months", with no conditions, "a head start from day one".

What 50% off means in Paris, at September 2026 prices:

• Annual plan: €34.50/month instead of €69 for 3 months, i.e. €103.50 saved
• Flex plan: €44.50/month instead of €89 for 3 months, i.e. €133.50 saved

How to activate the Dance promo code:

1. Open the Dance referral link: the discount is pre-applied, nothing to type

2. Choose your bike (Dance One high frame or Dance One Step step-through), your accessories and your plan (Flex or Annual)

3. Book a home-delivery slot: the 50% off shows on your first 3 invoices

4. You have 24 hours after delivery to return the bike free of charge if you change your mind

Good to know: several coupon sites still advertise "1 month free" or "€50" for the referrer. In September 2026 the app only shows the points system above, and 300 points buy a €30 discount on one monthly payment in the The Club catalogue (see below).

Both plans give you the same bike and the same services. The €20 monthly gap buys the freedom to hand the bike back at the end of any month: over a full year, Flex comes to €1,068 versus €828 on Annual. The 50% off applies to both, but the absolute saving is bigger on Flex (€133.50) because the base price is higher.

Paid options:

• Rear basket: €3.99/month
• Thule rear child seat: €9.99/month (RideAlong, RideAlong Lite and Yepp Nexxt Maxi approved by Dance; no front seat, no trailer)
• "Peace of mind" protection: €9.99/month, on top of the included "Basic" protection

What costs nothing: the handlebar phone mount, home delivery, repairs booked in the app, the replacement bike if yours is stolen, the pannier and the chain lock.

These figures are the Paris ones; Berlin and Hamburg have their own price list. If you work in France, part of the fee can be covered by your employer's sustainable mobility allowance (dedicated section below).

Both bikes share the same technical base and the same Matte Prism colour, an iridescent grey-blue that shifts to purple or green depending on the light (visible in our photos). Only the frame differs:

• Rear-hub motor, 45 Nm, two assistance modes up to 25 km/h (you can also ride unassisted to save the battery)
• Hydraulic disc brakes front and rear, 27.5-inch wheels, puncture-resistant all-season tyres with built-in reflective strips (3.0 bar)
• Removable 2.3 kg battery in the down tube, locked with a key; up to 55 km of range, 80% charge in 2 h, full charge in 3 h
• Front and rear lights powered by the battery, bell, mudguards, kickstand, rear rack (12 kg max) fitted with the lock pannier
• Maximum load: 120 kg, rider and luggage included

The handlebar is not height-adjustable (only the saddle is): if you sit at the edge of a height range, pick the more forgiving One Step. Both models are delivered assembled and adjusted at home, and both qualify for the 50% off for 3 months.

A detail no product page shows: every Dance comes with a small grey pannier bearing the Dance logo, screwed onto the rear rack (photo below). It is not meant for groceries: it is the dedicated storage for the chain lock, which is heavy and bulky. You drop the chain in before every ride, close the velcro flap, and you have no chain dangling from the handlebar and no padlock at the bottom of your backpack.

Three things to know, from the Dance help centre and our own use:

• The pannier is part of the bike: Dance asks you not to remove it; if it is lost or damaged, you book a repair in the app and it gets replaced
• The metal eyelets on the flap and the front visibly drain water: the pannier is not waterproof, so don't leave a phone or documents in it
• The rack remains usable above the pannier (12 kg max), and Dance tolerates your own easy-to-fit panniers, at your own risk

In daily use, this is the accessory that sets it apart from a bike you buy: the chain has a fixed home, and you never wonder whether to bring it.

The supplied lock is not a rigid U-lock but a Kryptonite chain in a fabric sleeve, closed by a combination padlock: no key to lose, a code you dial on the wheels. It is the most practical choice in a city, and the thing we appreciate most:

• You can really lock it anywhere: trees, posts, railings, thick hoops, lamp posts, wherever a U-lock won't fit. In the photo, our Dance One is locked by its top tube around a street tree
• No key: the code is dialled on the padlock, and the help centre says it can be changed if you want to personalise it
• It has a home: stored in the rack pannier (previous section), it doesn't bang against the frame

Dance tips and rules worth knowing:

• Always lock the bike to a fixed point in a public place, including when you book a repair: the technician comes without you, and Dance may charge a fee if the bike is inaccessible
• Padlock won't open? The help centre suggests trying neighbouring codes (change the last digit: a wheel can move inside the pannier), then booking a repair in the app; a home visit is possible if the chain is attached to the bike
• Lost the chain? Book a repair in the app: a technician brings you a new one, and the bike must stay secured in the meantime
• The battery has its own key lock in the down tube: you take it out to charge at the office and leave the bike locked outside

For a bike you buy outside a subscription, a dedicated theft insurance such as Sharelock is still needed; with Dance, the "Basic" protection is in the monthly fee.

The Club is Dance's loyalty programme, built into the app (tab of the same name). The idea: points, earned by referring and riding, to swap for rewards, including discounts on the subscription itself. Here is what our account shows in September 2026 (225 points on the counter):

The maths that matters: a single referral carried through (bike picked up, then 3 months of subscription) earns 600 points, i.e. two €30 discounts: an Annual plan drops from €69 to €39 for two months. Two friends referred within 90 days: 1,350 points, i.e. €120 off plus a balance for the coffee. Add the 50% off your friends get on their side, and the Dance referral is one of the few where both parties save on the same monthly bill.

Rules to know (Dance help centre):

• Points apply only to future invoices, never retroactively
• Cancelling your subscription forfeits your points: spend them before returning the bike
• The referral link (and its QR code) is under The Club > Refer a friend

The Trips tab of the app is the bike's logbook. At the top, three cumulative counters; below, every trip with its time, duration, distance, CO2 equivalent and average speed. Our numbers at the time of writing:

Three recent trips, as displayed: 6.9 km in 20 min (3 kg of CO2, 20.2 km/h average), 8.2 km in 22 min (3.5 kg, 21.7 km/h) and 8.5 km in 36 min (3.6 kg, 14.1 km/h at rush hour).

How the CO2 is calculated: Dance compares each trip with the same trip by car. On our data this works out at about 0.43 kg of CO2 per kilometre (300 kg for 690 km, 3 kg for 6.9 km), the order of magnitude of a petrol car in city traffic, cold starts included. It is not a measurement but an estimate of avoided emissions; it is enough to give meaning to a quarter of commutes.

The detail that changes everything: Bluetooth. Your phone, connected to the bike over Bluetooth, is what records the trip. In our experience, for a trip to show up in the app (and count towards Club milestones such as "25 trips" or "longest trip"), you must keep Bluetooth switched on during the ride. Bluetooth off: the trip, its kilometres and its CO2 are simply not counted. If the app no longer connects to the bike, the help centre gives the order to follow: switch Bluetooth off and on, fully close the app and reopen it, and as a last resort reinstall it while granting the requested permissions.

Repairs and replacement:

• Everything is booked in the app (Service tab): puncture, brakes, motor, electronics, adjustments, a pannier or lock to replace
• The bike must be locked in an accessible public place; you don't need to be there, the app tells you when it's done (a fee may apply if the bike is inaccessible)
• Announced lead time: within 24 business hours, 48 h on weekends and public holidays (the Paris page says two business days, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm)
• If it can't be repaired on the spot, Dance swaps the bike
• Everything is covered by the included "Basic" protection; remove your personal accessories before the visit, as any damage they caused can be charged

Theft protection:

• Lock supplied (the Kryptonite chain), theft insurance and bike replacement if it is stolen
• Report it in the app as soon as possible, with where and when you last used it; the Dance team investigates and tells you the next steps
• The "Peace of mind" option at €9.99/month extends cover beyond "Basic" (terms and excess in your contract and in the app)

Against an e-bike bought for €1,500 to €3,000, this repairs + theft duo is what justifies the monthly fee: outside a subscription you pay labour, parts and a separate theft insurance (€5 to €15/month with bike insurers).

Dance lists, in black and white on its homepage, "eligibility for the Forfait Mobilités Durables" among what every subscription includes. In practice:

• Your employer can cover up to €800/year of soft-mobility costs, free of income tax and social contributions
• Renting a Dance e-bike qualifies; the money comes through payroll or mobility vouchers
• In the private sector, the FMD stacks with the public-transport pass contribution (overall cap of €800/year)

Order of magnitude: an Annual plan at €69/month costs €828 a year. With the 50% off for the first 3 months (€103.50 saved), €724.50 remains: an employer paying the FMD at its €800 cap covers the whole first year. Without it, the Annual fee still sits below a monthly Navigo pass, with a bike of your own. Ask HR whether the FMD is in place: it is only mandatory in the public sector.

Since Veligo Location ended in the Paris region, Dance is one of the few long-term subscriptions to a personal e-bike in Paris. Three ways to ride electric, three logics:

Dance versus buying:

Over two years on Annual, Dance comes to about €1,550 (with the initial 50% off): more than an entry-level e-bike, less than an equivalent bike (belt drive, hydraulic brakes, 21 kg) once insurance and servicing are added, and no resale to handle. On the moped side, the Dance Moped (NIU-based, 45 km/h, 50 to 70 km of range) is only offered in Berlin as of September 2026; the Paris moped page has disappeared from the site. What we see on our two bikes:

• 18.3 km/h average over 690 km of Paris trips, traffic lights and cobblestones included: the real speed of a bike capped at 25 km/h in the city, versus the 14.1 km/h of our 36-minute rush-hour trip
• The Matte Prism paint marks: after months parked on the street, locked to trees and posts, our high frame shows chips on the top tube (visible in the lock photo). Trivial on a subscription, infuriating on a bike you own
• The combination chain is heavy and bulky, hence the dedicated pannier; in return, you always find something to lock to
• 21 kg: carrying it up stairs is a workout; the removable 2.3 kg battery helps a little, not enough for a fourth floor without a lift

Strengths reported by tests and reviews (Mobiwisy, Trustpilot):

• Build quality praised ("worthy of the German reputation", 18/20 at Mobiwisy)
• Smooth app: a repair booked in three screens, trips and points visible at a glance
• Assistance gentle and sufficient for the climbs of Montmartre or Belleville in extra mode
• Peace of mind: breakdown, theft, lost pannier, everything goes through a request in the app

Weak points reported:

• Urban range (55 km claimed): two charges a week at 20 km a day
• Rear-hub motor and 21 kg: the back is heavy to handle, especially on the step-through
• Longer repair times at peak demand according to some reviews, and no test ride before subscribing (only a free return within 24 h of delivery)
• Non-adjustable handlebar

Our take: Dance is ideal to try an e-bike risk-free in Paris, as long as you accept urban range. The 50% off for 3 months and the 24-hour return make the trial almost free of financial commitment.

Things to check before subscribing:

• Commitment: 1 month minimum on Flex (cancel at the end of any month), 12 months on Annual
• Area: home delivery in Paris in France; Berlin and Hamburg in Germany
• No test ride, but a free return within 24 h of delivery if the bike doesn't suit you
• Lock: secure the bike with the supplied chain in a safe public place, including for a repair (a fee may apply if the bike is inaccessible)
• Promo code: the referral's 50% off is for new subscribers, on the first 3 invoices
• Accessories: only Dance-approved child seats (Thule RideAlong, RideAlong Lite, Yepp Nexxt Maxi), no front seat, no trailer; your own accessories are at your own risk (clause 4.14 of the terms) and must be removed before a repair
• Charging: standard sockets only, car charging stations are not compatible
• Cancellation: in the app, Settings > Subscription > Cancel subscription, then pick a Dance drop-off point to return the bike; the app explains how to lock the bike and where to leave the accessories
• The Club points: forfeited on cancellation, spend them first
