Crypto.com Referral Code 2026: Visa Card + CRO Bonus

The Crypto.com Visa card is one of the platform's flagship products, but its rewards programme was overhauled in 2026 (the "Level Up" program). Two major changes: cashback is now earned via a monthly subscription OR by staking CRO (locking it as collateral), and with neither a subscription nor staking, cashback drops to 0%. Crypto.com offers two trading interfaces with different fees. The Crypto.com app (simple trading): spreads are built into the displayed price — between 0.5% and 2.99% depending on the pair and payment method (card = higher fees). The Crypto.com Exchange (advanced trading): maker fees 0.036% to 0.075% and taker 0.075% to 0.099% by monthly volume — very competitive. For small one-off purchases via the app, fees are higher. CRO (Cronos) is the native token of the Crypto.com ecosystem. Its main uses: stake CRO to unlock Visa card tiers and earn more cashback, reduce trading fees on the Exchange, join private token sales, and access preferential staking rates. The CRO price fluctuates with the crypto market — so the card's cashback is exposed to this currency risk. Crypto.com regularly burns CRO to reduce supply and support the price. The Cronos blockchain (an EVM network) that runs CRO also hosts a growing DeFi ecosystem.

Crypto.com Earn is the platform's passive-income product. It lets you deposit crypto (BTC, ETH, USDC, CRO, etc.) for a fixed term (1 month, 3 months, flexible) and earn interest. Rates vary by coin and duration: around 1-5% on BTC/ETH, 4-12% on stablecoins, and up to 12%+ on CRO in long-term staking. Crypto.com Earn rates have fallen since the 2022-2023 sector crisis (Celsius collapse, etc.) but remain competitive. Crypto.com also offers native staking for Ethereum, Cardano, Polkadot and other PoS blockchains via its app.

Crypto.com has a broadly satisfactory security record. In January 2022, it suffered a $34 million hack affecting 483 user accounts — funds were fully reimbursed. It has since strengthened measures: 100% of user crypto in cold storage, ISO 27001 certification, and quarterly Proof of Reserves. Security features include 2FA (Google Authenticator), an anti-phishing code, withdrawal address whitelisting and a 24h delay for new payees. Crypto.com holds insurance covering cold-storage funds. Crypto.com offers a built-in NFT marketplace to buy, sell and mint NFTs, with creator royalties up to 10%. It has signed partnerships with major sports brands (UFC, Formula 1, LeBron James). The DeFi Wallet is a separate app to manage on-chain assets on the Cronos blockchain and access DeFi protocols (yield farming, liquidity mining). Note: the DeFi Wallet is non-custodial — you are responsible for your private keys. If you lose the seed phrase, your funds are gone for good. Keep custodial (exchange) and non-custodial (DeFi Wallet) clearly separate.

Our verdict: Crypto.com is a complete, mainstream crypto platform, ideal for combining exchange, prepaid card and staking. Strengths: a metal Visa card with cashback, a full MiCA (CASP) licence, 350+ coins, built-in staking, an intuitive app, a $25 CRO referral bonus. Weaknesses: high in-app fees (up to 2.99%), cashback in CRO (currency risk), CRO staking or a subscription now required for any card cashback (0% otherwise), the 2022 hack (reimbursed). Ideal if you want a crypto card with cashback, alongside a low-fee exchange like Bybit or Coinbase for trading.
