Key takeaways
On the energy side, Butagaz dominates the October 2026 ranking with €200, ahead of Engie (€130) and Gaz de Bordeaux (€100). Most of the pack sits between €20 and €40: in a market where switching suppliers is free and seamless, the bonus mostly serves as a trigger.
On the telecom side, Orange Fibre offers the highest bonus in euros (€199). Amounts remain below those of bank sign-up bonuses (€56 on average for energy versus more than €100 for banks): operators favor free subscription months, which are not counted here.
Broadband & mobile
Bonuses in euros from broadband and mobile operators. Rewards paid as free subscription months (Sosh, Prixtel, NRJ Mobile…) are excluded from the ranking — see the methodology.

Methodology
- Scope: household energy suppliers (electricity, gas, heating oil) and broadband & mobile operators sold in France, with a bonus denominated in euros. Non-monetary perks (free months, free kWh, percentage discounts) and comparison services are excluded from the ranking.
- Amount used: the maximum bonus a new customer can claim — referral and/or welcome offer when the brand lets them stack. Conditions (effective subscription, monthly payments made, minimum duration) are detailed on each brand page.
- Verification: every offer is checked manually on the brand's own website; the last verification date is shown in the table and on the corresponding brand page.
- Updates: the ranking recalculates automatically whenever a bonus changes; an editorial summary is published every quarter.

Frequently asked questions
Which energy supplier offers the best bonus in October 2026?
Butagaz tops the barometer with €200 (referral and/or welcome offer, conditions apply). The average across the 15 ranked suppliers is €56.
How does referral work with an energy supplier?
The referral code (or referral link) is entered when signing up for the electricity or gas contract. The bonus is usually paid out after a few monthly payments, either as a credit on the bill or as a bank transfer, and the referrer most often receives an equivalent amount. Switching suppliers is free, involves no power cut and carries no commitment with most providers.
What about the mobile operators' free-month offers?
Several operators (Sosh, Prixtel, NRJ Mobile, Coriolis, Bouygues Telecom on mobile) reward referrals with free subscription months rather than a fixed amount. These perks are not ranked in the barometer, which only compares bonuses denominated in euros — their real value depends on the plan you subscribe to. They are still detailed on each operator's page.
How often is this barometer updated?
Offers are re-verified continuously (each brand page shows its last verification date) and the ranking recalculates automatically whenever a bonus changes. An editorial summary is published every quarter.
