How to activate a Vivid Money referral code

Vivid Money rewards sign-ups that come through its «Invite a friend» referral programme. The referral code or link is used when you create your account in the Vivid mobile app.

The process: download the Vivid Money app (iOS or Android), start sign-up with the referral link or code, complete KYC verification, then make your first transaction. Once validated, the referrer receives €20 in Stock Rewards (fractional shares of listed companies credited to the investment account); any bonus for the new customer depends on the campaign running at the time — check the app's current terms.

Vivid is a German neobank — to compare with other neobanks, see also N26 and Revolut.

Note: sign-ups have been closed to French residents since October 2022 — the referral flow only works in countries where Vivid still onboards personal customers, such as Germany, Spain and Italy.

Vivid Money: a German neobank and investment platform

Vivid Money is a German neobank founded in 2020 by former N26 and Raisin executives. It stands out from competitors by combining a current account and an integrated investment account — giving access to stocks, ETFs and cryptocurrencies — in a single app.

Vivid operates in partnership with Solaris SE (formerly SolarisBank), a German bank regulated by BaFin (the German banking regulator), which manages client funds. Deposits are protected by the European deposit-guarantee scheme up to €100,000.

Vivid's distinctive feature is its one-of-a-kind cashback: rather than cashback in euros, Vivid offers cashback in fractional company shares or cryptocurrencies, depending on the user's preference — an original way to invest passively from everyday spending.

Vivid cashback: shares, ETFs and crypto on your spending

Vivid cashback is the neobank's flagship product — it turns every purchase into automatic investing:

Standard cashback (free plan): up to 0.1% cashback on spending, paid in fractional shares or crypto as you choose. Some spending categories offer more (5-10% at selected partners, rotating monthly).

Vivid Prime cashback (€9.90/month): up to 0.4% standard cashback, plus higher boosted rates at partners. Access to the premium IBAN and other perks.

Cashback in fractional shares is invested automatically in the stock of your choice (Apple, LVMH, Airbus, Tesla) with no brokerage fees. It's a way to accumulate shares gradually without thinking about it.

Risk: shares and cryptocurrencies received as cashback are subject to market fluctuations — their value can fall. Crypto cashback carries an additional risk of capital loss.

The Vivid Money current account: banking features

Beyond cashback, Vivid offers a full current account:

  • A European IBAN (SEPA) provided by Solaris
  • A Vivid Visa card: compatible with Google Pay and Apple Pay
  • Spaces: up to 40 sub-accounts to organise your budget (holiday savings, emergencies, projects)
  • Instant SEPA payments in real time
  • Free transfers within SEPA
  • Foreign-currency payments: interbank rate with no surcharge on the Prime plan (standard rate on the free plan)

The free Vivid account is competitive for standard everyday use. The Prime plan at €9.90/month adds perks on foreign-currency payments, boosted cashback, and travel-insurance options.

Investing with Vivid: stocks, ETFs and crypto from the app

Vivid Invest is the investment module built into the app:

Stocks and ETFs: access to more than 1,500 stocks listed in the US and Europe (NYSE, Nasdaq, Xetra, Euronext) and a selection of ETFs. Transactions are commission-free but with a spread of ~0.5-1% built into the execution price.

Fractional shares: buy from €1 of a stock, even the priciest (Alphabet, Tesla). Fractions allow maximum diversification even with small amounts.

Cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Ethereum and ~50 other cryptos available, with a ~1.5-2% spread built in. Check the crypto regulation applicable in your country before investing.

Risk: stocks, ETFs and cryptocurrencies carry a risk of capital loss. Past performance does not predict future performance.

Vivid referral code: €20 in Stock Rewards per friend

The Vivid referral programme («Invite a friend») is the main way to get a bonus:

  • The referrer shares their Vivid referral link or code from the app
  • The friend signs up with it (in an eligible country — France has been closed to new personal customers since October 2022)
  • After KYC validation and a first transaction, the referrer receives €20 in Stock Rewards, up to 5 friends (€100 maximum)

Stock Rewards are real fractional shares — you own them and can sell them once credited. Amounts and caps are set by Vivid's current programme terms and can change between campaigns; the figures above were checked in July 2026.

Vivid "Spaces": sub-accounts to organise your budget

Vivid's Spaces are sub-accounts that let you segment your money into envelopes dedicated to each project or goal:

  • Emergency savings: physically separate your safety buffer from the rest
  • Holidays: gradually fund a Holiday Space with automatic transfers
  • Projects: a car, renovation, a wedding — each project has its own space
  • Kids' Spaces: manage your children's pocket money via a dedicated Space

You can invest directly from a Space — buying ETFs from your Savings Space, for example. Up to 40 different Spaces are available on the Prime plan.

This feature is similar to Monzo "pots" or N26 "spaces" — an envelope-budgeting approach that helps avoid mixing financial goals.

The safety of funds at Vivid Money

The safety of funds at Vivid rests on the partnership with Solaris SE (formerly SolarisBank), a German bank regulated by BaFin.

Deposit guarantee: euro balances on your Vivid account are guaranteed up to €100,000 by the European deposit-guarantee scheme (under the DGSD Directive). If Solaris fails, your deposits up to €100,000 would be reimbursed.

Segregated investment assets: the stocks and ETFs you hold via Vivid Invest are registered in your name — they are segregated from Vivid's balance sheet and cannot be seized by creditors if Vivid fails.

Cryptocurrencies: crypto does not benefit from any similar legal protection. Crypto custody risk is platform-specific — read Vivid's documentation on crypto custody.

Vivid Money in brief: review, strengths and limits

Vivid Money is an innovative neobank that combines a current account and investing seamlessly. Its cashback in fractional shares is a unique feature in the European neobank market.

Strengths: cashback in shares (passive and automatic), a full current account (IBAN, Visa, Spaces), access to stocks/ETFs/crypto from one app, 0 brokerage fees, €100,000 deposit guarantee, an available free plan.

Limits: the brokerage offer is less complete than Trade Republic (fewer stocks, fewer ETFs). The investment spread (~0.5-1% on stocks, ~1.5-2% on crypto) is less competitive than pure brokers. The Prime plan at €9.90/month is expensive for mainly banking use.

Vivid Money history: founded by ex-N26 and Raisin alumni

Vivid Money was founded in 2020 by Artem Yamanov and Alexander Emeshev, two former N26 executives — Europe's largest neobank. This N26 DNA shows in the app's polished design and mobile-first approach.

The company raised more than €200 million, including a 2022 Series C led by Greenoaks Capital that valued the company at €775 million, which let it expand quickly in France, Spain, Italy and Germany.

Vivid has operated in partnership with Solaris since launch — a "Banking-as-a-Service" model that lets Vivid focus on product and user experience without obtaining its own banking licence.

In 2026, Vivid continues to differentiate itself in the neobank market through its unique "spend and invest" positioning — the convergence of a current account and passive investing. For a unified stocks + crypto broker, see Trade Republic.

Vivid Business: the professional account still open in France

Personal sign-ups are closed to French residents (see above), but Vivid Business — the professional account — remains fully open to freelancers, sole traders and SMEs based in France, Germany, Spain, Italy and several other EU countries. No promo code is needed at vivid.money/en/business: perks apply automatically at sign-up.
